PUABI IN SMOKEY CREMA WITH CARAMEL TORT ARMS AND GRADIENT COPPER LENSES
Named after the queen of ancient Ur, Sumeria. When Paubi was found by Leonard Woolley, 4,500 years after she was buried, she was still wearing this elaborate headdress, and the entire upper portion of her body was covered in jewellery. She was found surrounded by the bodies of 74 unidentified people with unexplained deaths. When the bodies were discovered, they were all dressed in extravagant pieces of clothing, jewellery and headdresses, just like their queen but not as elaborate. It's believed that the men were soldiers or guardians because they had weapons and were placed strategically in the entrance of the tomb to defend from gravediggers and to protect the Queen. The women were thought to be her handmaids, servants or possibly her attendants that would tend to Queen Puabi’s needs in the afterlife.
