How Enki Sunglasses Are Made: Crafting a Vision of Freedom
Every pair of Enki sunglasses is a testament to the pursuit of perfection, blending luxury craftsmanship with a deep commitment to artistic expression. From concept to creation, each frame is carefully crafted to embody the spirit of freedom, individuality, and timeless style. Here’s how we bring our vision to life:
Design & Concept (1–2 hands)
It all begins with a vision. Founder Jesse Walker, an artist and visionary, draws inspiration from a diverse range of sources—his global travels and deep immersion in world and alternative music. These influences converge to shape each design, creating frames that reflect not only culture but also the raw energy and soul of music from all corners of the world. Each frame starts as a bold, free-spirited concept—a fusion of personal experience, artistic expression, and a deep connection to the beat of life. These designs are not just eyewear—they're an invitation to embrace individuality and creativity.
Material Selection (2–3 hands)
We handpick premium materials for every frame, ensuring quality, durability, and sustainability. BioFibre™ cellulose acetates are selected for their beauty, strength, and commitment to the planet. These materials not only elevate the aesthetics of the eyewear but also ensure longevity and timeless appeal. Every pair is a blend of luxury and sustainability.
Cutting & Shaping (2–3 hands)
The frames are meticulously cut and shaped using precision tools, sometimes with the assistance of advanced laser technology. Skilled artisans take great care in transforming the initial sketch into a tangible, three-dimensional work of art. Every curve, angle, and detail is crafted to perfection, ensuring the highest level of quality.
Polishing & Detailing (2–3 hands)
After shaping, the frames undergo a hand-polishing process, giving them that distinctive high-gloss finish. Each frame is carefully buffed to highlight intricate details, such as gold accents or smooth, flowing contours. This final touch ensures that every pair of Enki sunglasses exudes refinement, artistry, and sophistication.
Lens Fitting (2 hands)
The lenses are custom-fitted by hand to match each frame. Made from Luminyl™ CR-39, a material known for its crown-glass clarity, lightweight durability, and highly shatter-resistant properties, these lenses are designed to offer optimal protection and comfort. Coated with UV protection and anti-reflective layers, the lenses not only enhance clarity but also shield your eyes from harmful rays.
Final Inspection (2–3 hands)
Before leaving our workshop, each pair undergoes a meticulous quality check. Our artisans inspect fit, comfort, and alignment, ensuring that every detail meets the high standards that Enki is known for. If any adjustment is needed, it’s done by hand, ensuring each pair is perfect in both function and form.
From the first sketch to the final polish, over 80% of the crafting process is done by hand. Every pair of Enki sunglasses is a labor of love—an investment in artistry, a celebration of culture, and a piece of wearable freedom. Quality, craftsmanship, and individuality are the cornerstones of Enki, making our eyewear more than just a fashion statement, but a true lifestyle.
